Goa the paradise!
A state of India formed and annexed in the year 1961. It was ruled by the Portuguese for over 450years. It's bordered by the states of Maharashtra & Karnataka And Arabian Sea to the west. The capital city of the state is Panaji (Panjim). Goa has a huge cultural influence of the Portuguese. Goa is known for it's world famous beaches, flora & fauna, Portuguese Architecture, Food and a huge attraction for the tourists.Also there are many forts in Goa like Tiracol, Chapora, Aguada,etc.
Goa is mainly divided into two regions; North Goa & South Goa. Goa has a huge coastline, a couple of jungles, well built cities and one of the most beautiful churches you will find in India. It's a package inall. Goa accommodates everyone. The rich and the poor. One feels like going to Goa can reach anyhow.
Goa has huge connectivity from all over India and major parts of the world. Thanks to the huge numbers of tourists attracted. The main airport is Dabolim. They have daily flights from all over. Railways of Goa are operated by two divisions; South Western Railway & Konkan Railway. The rail journey from Mumbai to Goa is too scenic covering the Konkan Coast Of Maharashtra. It's just very beautiful specially in the monsoons. By road, one can easily reach Goa. Public transport is easy and mainly operated by private operstors and carriers.
The best season to visit Goa is winters. Christmas, New Years (Indian, Russjan, French) are widely celebrated in Goa. In summers Goa is crowded mainly by the Indians as children have their summer vacations going on and a couple of foreign nationals who come to Goa for Sun Bathing. Monsoons major of the places are shut as Goa receives heavy rains. It has a huge diversity climatewise. Goan Carnival attracts thousands of tourists.
The people of Goa are known as Goans. Goan, Konkani, Hindi are the main languages. Most of the local traders speak English, French, Russian, German. So there is no language barrier.
